How it all began

I had never really met anyone who could keep my attention beyond a few dates until I met Cortney. She’s beautiful, fun, loving, ambitious and challenges me in ways that I didn’t know I needed. She brings child-like awe, curiosity and wonder into everyone’s world but particularly mine. Her kindness and love of animals is so endearing. And I love how much she loves me.
There were signs on our first date like when Cortney used the r word and said she wanted to do science fair projects with kids, I knew this had potential. I knew she was the one when I started scheduling her into my calendar and according to my Mother Deb, when I started smiling in photos. In the end, as she predicted, it was the cat (appropriately named kittens) that “broke me like a wild stallion”. I’m very excited for our little Texas family.

Rich and I are profoundly different people when it comes to many topics in life. I love spontaneity, he loves a schedule. I want to get lost in the jungle, Rich wants to stay at a 5 star resort. I’m emotional, Rich is logical. I love living for the now, Rich is a planner. And it’s through these differences, rather than in-spite of them, that we fell in love.
After singing Dayman on our first date and me getting food poisoning (even though Rich told me not to eat the food), it took us months (really just Rich) to realize what was brewing between us. Rich had to meticulously calculate the odds, while I was just fine simply enjoying the rides of life.
At this point I can't imagine life without Rich and I feel extremely lucky to have him love me the way he does.
I fell in love with his intelligence and the way he thinks and problem solves. I fell in love with how loyal he is, and that he never makes me worry about my place in his life and I fell in love his quirky, goofy jokes and charm - He's my Larry David-meets-a more functional rain-man, blending wit, humor, and intellect in a way that captivates my heart every day.

Of course there are many, many experiences that have created the story of us but we’ll save some of those stories for the wedding…
We feel so incredibly blessed to not only have found each other but to have so many wonderful people we call our friends and of course our families, to support, uplift and celebrate with us through all of life’s stages.
We cannot wait to welcome you to our wedding and dance the night away!
Thank you for being part of our story-
